Comics Rant: Doctor Strange #2

Doctor Strange #2
Written By Jason Aaron
Penciled and Colored By Chris Bachalo
Inked By Tim Townsend, Al Vey & Mark Irwin

So much like R. Kelley, Chris Bachalo loves his mamma. Which he dedicates this issue of Doc Strange to. I can dig it. We get right back to where we left off from the first issue of the relaunched Sorcerer Supreme from the mind that made X-Men lighthearted, Jason Aaron.

We have Zelma, who's from the Bronx and also has some weird little purple demons coming from her head going to see Doctor Strange for help. Because let's face it, no amount of Oxypads will solve that shit.

Comics Rant: Amazing Spider-Man #3

Amazing Spider-Man #3
Written by Dan Slott
Penciled by Giuseppe Camuncoli
Inked by Cam Smith
Colored by Marte Gracia

I think I say this just about every chance I get, but I really do enjoy reading Amazing Spider-Man. Ever since Dan Slott has taken over the title solo he's injected it with so much fun, action, and a little thing called continuity, that it's like Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. are still at the helm. If you don't know what continuity is, don't worry, neither does Marvel editorial. Zing.

Comics Rant: Silk #1

Silk #1
Written By Robbie Thompson
Drawn By Stacey Lee
Colored By Ian Herring

Hey, look here, another new #1 from the House of Ideas. Marvel Comics. Well, in this case more like they had one idea (the reboot) and ran that shit into the ground. But as you might recall from The Verbal Mosh podcast, and if you haven't then shame on you, you know that I really enjoy Silk. It's a refreshing take on someone in the Spider-Verse that, you know, isn't a clone. Hey, I really enjoyed that run of stories. So send any and all complaints to

Comics Rant: Batman #46

Batman #46
Written By Scott Snyder
Penciled By Greg Capullo
Inked By Danny Miki
Colored By Fco Plascencia

Super? Heavy? Superheavy? Yes, folks, the storyline that sent shockwaves throughout the Batman offices, since, well the last fucking storyline is still going strong. Jim Gordon is still the goddamn Batman, wearing what can only be described as Bat-workout gear and a mecha Batman suit. Seems like Scott Snyder has been watching too much Mobile Suit Gundam. Amirite? Okay, enough with the jokes. I got a rant to dive deep into.

Mr. Bloom has attacked. Okay, wait, that's too strong a word. Hmm, okay he's shown up at a fundraiser for new Gotham PD Commissioner Sawyner and Geri Powers, who runs Powers industry and created the new Batman program. He does the whole James Bond villain thing by talking to everyone, but just for a bonus, he kills some of the guests, too. Well, here's hoping homeboy had a check list of whom to off.

Comics Rant: Extraordinary X-Men #1

 Extraordinary X-Men #1
Written By Jeff Lemire
Penciled By Humberto Ramos
Inked By Victor Olazaba
Colored By Edgar Delgado

Jeff Lemire? Writting the X-Men? Sign me up. Oh, yeah. He totally brought over the Amazing Spider-Man art team with him. That's a legit plus. I no longer give a crap about the event books. So I have no clue how this new X-Team came about or just Cyclops did. I do know that that damn Terigen mist that powers the Inhumans has been let loose out on the Earth and given humans powers. Oh and it's totally killing the mutant race off by making them sterile. Bummer.

Comics Rant: Prez #5

Prez #5
Written By Mark Russell
Penciled By Ben Cadwell
Inked By Mark Morales
Colored By Jeremy Laswon

Just what is going on in this comic? You've got the American president dissolving US military might! Going to foreign nations and saying sorry for US policy! A killing machine with an identity crisis! All this and the complete and utter greatness that is Carl, The End of Life Bear. I kid you guys not, it's a big bear drone that gives out weed. My brother would love this dude. They'd be completely inseparable. Let's dig into this issue of Prez.

Comics Rant: Superman #45

Superman #45
Written By Gene Luen Yang
Drawn By Howard Porter
Colored By Hi-Fi

Hold on to your hats, folks, because this is going to get weird. Tash Moore here and with what little free time I have, I sat down on my couch and I got around to reading Superman #45 and man, I got a really good kick out of it. Parts of the book was good and some bad, but I did leave the reading with a laugh. Okay, to bring those of you who aren't reading this comic on the regular, Superman no longer has the Clark Kent guise to lean on. Yeah, you read that right. Everyone knows Big Blue's Secret I.D.

Comics Rant: Amazing Spider-Man #2

Amazing Spider-Man #2
Written By Dan Slott
Penciled By Giuseppe Camuncoli
Inked By Cam Smith
Colored By Marte Gracia

Again, Dan Slott and the Amazing Spider-Crew crank out another great Spidy web. (Pun intended, by the way.) It's James Bond meets the wall crawler. Except, you know, there's no PG 13 sex. Spidey is family friendly, you know. So we're picking up from last issue, which was yet another freaking #1! Parker Industries has it's webware device stolen by The Zodiac. Thankfully, Peter is smart enough to fuse Doc Ock's nano tech with his own to keep any unwanted  hackers from messing with his tech. Now that I think of it, is there really a WANTED hacker? No? Didn't think so.
