Comics Rant: Superman #10

Superman #10
Story by Peter J. Tomasi & Patrick Gleason
Penciled by Patrick Gleason
Inked by Mick Gray
Colored by John Kalisz

Super kids unite. Well, that's the name of the game when we get Robin and Superboy in a comic. Our tale begins with Superboy and his cohort, Kathy, from Smallville going to look for a tree for the holidays. I'd say Christmas, but I don't want the liberals to come and kick down the door and give me shit. Kathy ain't having the spookiness of the Smallville bog and takes her ass home. Don't blame her, normally when someone takes to a dark secluded area, you don't make it back alive.

Superboy then runs into Nobody. If you don't know who she is, then you gotta look at the trades of the Gleason/Tomasi run of Batman

Comics Rant: Amazing Spider-Man #21

Amazing Spider-Man #21
Written by Dan Slott & Christos Gage
Penciled by Giuseppe Camuncoli
Inked by Cam Smith & Roberto Poggi
Colored by Jason Keith

So this issue of Amazing Spider-Man is more or less a Clone Conspiracy tie in. That's just fine with me! Its got Clones and guess what? The return of Kaine! Well, he's back and rocking his Scarlet Spider outfit, which to be honest, I've never been to big on. But hey, he's back, so I'm not gonna complain. Yet. Since Kaine was killed during the fight with Morlun and his family, in what was Spider-Verse, he's found a way back. He was in the form of being the other (the giant ass spider.) And with that form being killed, Kaine is back to his normal clone self.

Clone in the sense that he looks like Peter Parker but the clone Degeneration is back and in full effect. Hey, looking at the cover, doesn't Scarlet Spider's outfit look like some Old Navy Activewear? It doesn't, does it? Kaine

Comics Rant: All Star Batman #4

All Star Batman #4
Written by Scott Snyder
Pencils by John Romita, Jr & Declan Shalvey
Inked by Declan Shalvey & Danny Miki
Colors by Dean White & Jordie Bellaire

Well, four issues in and I still can't really tell you just what the fuck is going on. I kind of think that's what Scott Snyder is going for here. As far as John Romita, Jr., well, I'm sure he's just happy to get a check from DC comics that actually clears. No, wait, only Marvel sends fake checks. Just ask Jack Kirby. I'd like to think that Stan Lee is still out there, after all theses years, holding on to them. Out of spite. Or not. But hey, I can troll, can't I?

On to the rant. Batman and Duke, (which is still a stupid ass code name. I mean, its not even a code name, it's his real name!)

Comics Rant: Doctor Strange #12

Doctor Strange #12
Written by Jason Aaron
Penciled by Chris Bachalo
Inked by Tim Townsend, Richard Friend, Al Vey, Victor Olazaba & John Livesay
Colored by Antonio Fabela

Well, well, look what we have here, a Doctor Strange comic that has Baron Mordo and the dreaded Dormammu, (two m's, fam). With the new movie out you know that someone at Marvel thinks some one will go out and buy this book. Not damn likely but can we really blame them for trying? You can't, but I sure can. But that's not how the issue begins.

We start off at NYU medical center where we have Mister Misery torturing the students. Not like they need a supernatural being to do that. Pretty sure debt

Dock Ock is back! To say nothing of the fact that he's alive and fighting our hero. You know, the one who shoots webs. Yeah, that's right, Spider-Man. But while you are no doubt wondering how this has happened, we will get there. Well, really that's what this issue is clearly about.

Otto is dead but as always his mind was stuck somewhere else thus saving him completely. Doc Ock transferred his mind into the robotic body of the Living Brain. When they fell apart when he attacked Spider-Man back in issue #19, Ock jumped into the body of a small spider-bot and ran off to locate his body.

Doc Ock and

Superman, Superboy, and Captain Storm (not Sue or Johnny) of the Losers team up to escape Dinosaur Island. Man, remind me to keep my ass away next time Jon Kent decides to build some shit for the school's show and tell. Some innocent people could be killed! Or at the very least, maimed. Since Storm has been stuck on Dinosaur Island since World War II, Superman tells him that the good ol' US of A won the war and made it safe for democracy. Oh and we elected Donald Trump. Which promptly makes him shoot himself. Okay, maybe not all that but hey, it could have went that way.

Nobody knows just how Captain Storm got

Movie Review: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
directed by David Yates
starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler, and more.

Yes, sure, there were supposed to be a bunch of other movie reviews. Like my review for Suicide Squad, in which I wanted to comment on the disturbing reactions I saw in the theater to small children seeing lots of violence and murder and them gasping in awe like it was the coolest thing. What is wrong with these kids? A rhetorical question since I'm sure they're just desensitized to violence from other movies, tv, games, etc. Then there's the Batman v Superman review in which I would make the same joke that everyone else has already made about the ridiculous scene of the two Martha's. Martha? Martha?! Maaaaarrrrrrtttthhhhhaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! Well, stuff happened, but here's my review for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

I'll try not to spoil the movie too much.

More clones than you can shake a stick at! Jay Jameson is sick and dying, but only NEW U tech, which we all now know is really just a front for the Jackal, can save him. Man, that guy just can't stay dead. But it's Dan Slott, so can we really complain? No. I guess we can't. But in typical Spider-Man/ Parker luck fashion our hero just can't get right.

Aunt May knows that something is killing her new husband, but Peter doesn't want to use the NEW U procedure because when his own

Superman and Superboy and Krypto! Man, I gotta admit this is more and more starting to feel like a love letter to Superman's Silver Age here. The Man of Steel is helping his son with his school science project in the Fortress of Solitude. Which when you think of it, is there really any other place you can think of which would provide a better amount of material for making a kick ass science project? I didn't think so.
